We screen films on most Tuesdays from September to May at the Borough Hall, Bridge Street in Godalming (opposite Waitrose) with the odd screening at the Wilfrid Noyce Centre in Godalming.
Car parking is available at the rear of the Waverley Borough Council Offices (behind the Borough Hall) or in Crown Court parking lot – both are free from 6:30 pm onwards. It is not recommended that you park at the Library or Waitrose as they both have restrictions on parking and are monitored by 3rd party companies. Other locations for local parking can be found here: LOCAL PARKING.
You must be a member of GFS to attend our screenings; please see MEMBERSHIP for details on how to join. As a member, you can also arrange to bring guests.
There are facilities for disabled access and we can accommodate wheelchair users. The seating is partly tiered (140 seats) for a maximum capacity of ca. 200.
Doors open at 7:15 pm when refreshments (red & white wine and water) are available and films start at 7:45 pm promptly. Shorts are sometimes shown before the main feature (as indicated on the programme). There are no intervals.
Prior to each screening, the Committee members and volunteers set up the raked seating (and extra chairs), the membership/guest ticket table and the refreshments. The projectionists set up and test the film from the projection booth. After the screening, everything is taken down again.
