
The Film Society in conjunction with Godalming Town Council and CareUK, has supported the establishment of Godalming Relaxed Cinema Club (GRCC) to show films in the Wilfrid Noyce Centre.
The purpose of GRCC is to enable those living with Dementia or Autism, and other film lovers with physical conditions unable to access cinema in the local multiplex, to watch films on a large screen in an environment that suits them.
GRCC is run entirely by volunteers and free to join. Members are provided with a programme of upcoming films and both members and their guests are welcome to attend screenings free of charge. Those that attend may make donations to help cover costs. We use the main hall of the Wilfrid Noyce Centre in Godalming courtesy of the Town Council. The films all start at 2:15pm with the doors open from 1:30pm.

The romantic classic with Fred Astaire, Judy Garland and Peter Lawford, directed by Charles Walters. Memorable Irving Berlin songs and dancing, and winner of the best music Oscar 1949.

18 April – The Sapphires 2013
Directed by Wayne Blair, this Australian musical comedy-drama stars Chris O’Dowd, Deborah Mailman and Jessica Mauboy. It tells the story of a 1960’s girl group entertaining the military in Vietnam.

9 May – Oliver! 1968
This musical drama directed by Carol Reed stars Ron Moody, Oliver Read, Harry Secombe, Shani Wallis and Mark Lester, in an adaptation of Charles Dicken’s 1838 novel Oliver Twist. It runs for 153 minutes and won 5 Oscars.
