"An unexpectedly excellent evening's viewing. Some good ideas executed with panache where a lack of budget and experience is compensated for by the vigour and humour of the approach - 'Joe's Tornado', 'The Beach House' and 'Doughnut'. Two that are good but flawed - I don't find the characters reactions entirely convincing in 'Say Goodbye' and the outcome of 'Wine Lake' is pretty predictable. One nicely done but perhaps could sacrifice a little of the production values for a bit of the fizz of the three above - 'The New Boy'. Lovely finale though. The winner for me though is 'The Nest'. So simple but so complex, it invites you to flesh out all the characters and their lives from the fragments shown. Less is more. Superb".

“Great evening. Say Goodbye was a particular high point of the evening. Doughnut made me laugh and Wine Lake made me cry!”

“I loved this evening. Fun. You should do this early in the season so that people can interact with each other rather than just watch a film and leave”

“Varied selection and all enjoyable. Didn’t like Say Goodbye as it appeared top be about stalking and unrealistic”.

“Excellent films. Thank you”. “Some great plot lines and storytelling”.

“All the films were excellent. The subject sometimes made it difficult to judge the technical points. but really interesting”.

“What a great collection of shorts. All very different and excellent for different reasons – not a bad one among them. Please do it again!!”

“Great selection of different films. Amazing what can be packed into 10mins of film! Thanks”.

“Say Goodbye – wondered where my wedding dress ended up!! The Nest – really enjoyed from start to finish”.

“JT – felt unfinished or unexplained; BH – speech not always clear. Professional acting. SG – held up well. TN – incoherent – aroused no emotion. D – Thought provoking – well done. WL – Amusing and thought provoking, realistic, well-acted”.

“All very good films great choice and varied”.

“BH – Cleverley done. SG – Reminded me of my Liverpool roots. The script and locations”.

“An interesting evening. Would like to see more shorts”.

“Excellent programme; the whole was more than the sum of its parts. A riveting evening”. “A varied and interesting evening and all the films were very good and as often is the case with shorts, thought provoking”.

“All interesting films. Sometimes the quality of the sound made it difficult but content was thought provoking”.

“A really enjoyable evening. A good mix of films. Hopefully it will be repeated”.

“A very enjoyable evening – a great mix of different situations and cultures. I found every film thoroughly absorbing”.

“I really enjoyed this evening of short films – more of the same another time please? Fascinating selection of films – some more compelling than others. Say goodbye – excellent and outstanding”.
